Today, 27 November 2009, marks the first Maaveerar Naal without the physical presence of Velupillai Pirabakaran, who was assassinated in Sri Lanka by the Sri Lankan Army. 27 November 2009 also serves to mark the broadening and deepening struggle of the Tamil people for freedom.
