Srilanka won against south Africa(1st match) in Champions Trophy 2009

Today on 23rd September,as per latest news Srilanka won by 55 runs in 1st match against South Africa of Champions Trophy 2009 by Duckworth/Lewis(D/L) law at Centurion, Tshwane, South Africa.after this loss,South Africa fall down at 3rd position from 1st position in to the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings and India get 1st and Australia get 2nd position in this rankings.
At the first South Africa won the toss and elected to field first and this was completely wrong decision taken by South Africa because Srilanka scored 319/8 in limited 50 overs and set target for Africa was 320 in 50 overs.T M Dilshan scored 106 runs in just 92 balls with 16 fours and 1 six.Mahela Jayawardene scored outstanding 77 runs in just 61 balls with 8 fours and 1 six.tri series(Compaq cup 2009) hero Thilina Kandamby was failed first time due to this match after 4 to 5 very special game.Srilanka’s captain Kumar Sangakkara scored 54 runs in 74 balls with 5 fours.Dale Steyn and Wayne Parnell took 3 wickets each for South Africa.Srilanka set 320 runs target at the end of inning.
South Africa’s start was an average because they lost their one opener Hashim Amla in 3rd overs.then after very long partnership created between South Africa’s captain Greame Smith and Jacques Kallis.when South Africa manage 206/7 in 37.4 overs on a score board,rain felled was start and according to D/L law Srilanka get the won by 55 runs.Ajanta Mendis took 3 wickets for Srilanka.after this loss South Africa fall down at first to 3rd position in the ICC ODI Team ratings ad India get 1st Position and Australia get 2nd position in rankings.
